Jevaunda Bond Obituary

**In Loving Memory of Jevaunda Annette Bond**

On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, Jevaunda Annette Bond, 54, earned her wings after a brave and unwavering battle with ovarian cancer. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends whose lives she touched throughout her journey. The world has lost a remarkable daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and leader.

Born on July 10, 1970, Jevaunda was the daughter of Charlie L. Bond and Jacqueline L. Bond. She lived life boldly, passionately, and entirely on her own terms. Jevaunda had an incredible ability to light up any room with her fierce spirit and sharp wit. While she didn’t suffer fools gladly, she would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Her gift for speaking the truth—whether you were ready to hear it or not—always came laced with love.

Jevaunda was educated in the Norfolk Public School System and graduated from Norview High School, where she served as a drum major in the band and participated in the tennis, basketball, and track and field teams. After high school, she attended Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication and was a member of the VCU track and field team. She later attended Regent University, receiving a Master’s degree in Cinematography.

In 1999, Jevaunda began her career with KVBC/KSNV as a camera operator and quickly rose through the ranks from audio technician to technical director, director, and ultimately morning show production supervisor. She also worked at the Orleans Arena as a technical director for 19 years. In 2016, she won an Emmy for Best Morning Show, and in 2021, she was inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame in recognition of her dedication to the field of broadcasting.

A world traveler and adventure-seeker, Jevaunda chased experiences with joy and curiosity. Whether in bustling cities or quiet corners of the globe, she collected memories, friendships, and stories. Yet, no matter where she traveled, her heart remained with her family. She cherished the time she spent with them, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.

Jevaunda was a hard worker who believed in doing things her own way. She never allowed anyone else to define who she was or what her life should look like. Independent, strong-willed, and endlessly compassionate, she showed us all the meaning of living authentically.

Jevaunda was predeceased by her grandparents, John B. and Margaret Gibbs, Charlie Sr. and Pauline Bond, her uncles, Alvin and Bernard Bond, Arthur Lassiter, and her aunt Johnetta Johnson. She is survived by her mother Jacqueline L. Bond, father Charles L. Bond Jr., stepmother Bertha Bond, aunts Doris Jones, Beverly Lassiter, and Barbara Bond, sister Jahmara R. Bond, niece Briana Bond, nephew Jace Hughes, cousins Tracy Muff (Mike), Petrina Fowler (Timothy), Rachel Gibbs, Kimberly Johnson, Sherida Knatt, Tasha Bond, Selina Gibbs, Crystal Chandler (DeAngelo), Shaunta Gibbs, Jenell Johnson, and Shantal Cherry, along with a host of family and friends.

Jevaunda leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unshakable authenticity. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will continue to inspire everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Jevaunda Annette Bond was a remarkable force, and she will never be forgotten.
