LaDereck Mosley Sr.
February 13, 1965 – August 27, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of LaDereck Mosley Sr., who left this world on August 27, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia, at the age of 60. Born in East St. Louis, Illinois on February 13, 1965, LaDereck carried a lifelong love for his home state, his community, and, above all, his family.
LaDereck’s journey was marked by both struggle and strength. He faced illness with courage, surviving against all odds time and again, showing his family what it meant to keep fighting. His love for God and his family carried him through, and his unforgettable laugh will live forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
LaDereck was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Mosley, and his brother, Steve Mosley, who he now joins in eternal rest.
He is survived by his beloved mother, who he loved deeply; his six children, Derreck Lee Booth, Andre Jones, LaDereck Mosley Jr. (wife, Corinne Mosley), Alonzo Mosley Sr. (wife, Liliana Calderon), Lainey Long (husband Asher Long Sr.), and Destiny Mosley; his 27 grandchildren; siblings Victor Mosley (wife, Sharon), Elricko Mosley (wife, Judy), Jessie Mosley (wife, Jennifer Guenther Mosley), and Tondra Mosley; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him dearly.
LaDereck will be cremated, and his family will gather to honor the life of a man whose spirit could not be broken and whose love endures forever. His story is not defined by the battles he fought, but by the love he gave, the faith he held, and the legacy he leaves behind. Though his body rests, his spirit roars on — in the laughter that still rings, in the children and grandchildren who carry his name, and in the unshakable truth that he fought the good fight and finished his race.
