Larry Lee Ricks entered peacefully into eternal rest on Friday February 7, 2025. God took him from the cares of this world to perpetual bliss.
Larry was born April 1, 1952. He was the 11th child of the late Paul and Olivia Ricks. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Paul W. Ricks, Rudolph Ricks, James Ricks, Thomas Ricks and Alfred Ricks. And four Sisters Patricia Jones, Gloria Lawrence, Delores Ricks and Odessia Moore.
Larry Ricks was in a local music group at an early age and they traveled and performed various places before the group ended. Larry later became a dedicated member and Organist of New Saint Mark Baptist Church where he remained a faithful servant of Christ. Larry learned to play the piano by ear and followed in his mother's footsteps. He Mastered the keys and played harmoniously every Sunday until he wasn't able to physically. Larry loved the Lord Wholeheartedly and could recitebible stories and bible verses precisely from the bible vividly. You could often find Larry talking about and praising God daily and giving inspirational comfort thru songs. He loved Singing. His favorite gospel group The Winans. He also loved classical hymnals and Jazz.
Larry attended school in Norfolk, VA.He later began his career as a machine operator at Miller's Dairy until they went out of business. He then began working at Mary Jane Bakery til they closed. Lastly, he worked his later years at General Foam Plastics until he became ill. He lived his blessed life enjoying listening to music, watching westerns and drinking coffee year round.
