A TIME TO BE BORN
Lawrence “Butch” Robinson was born to Dora and James Robinson, on June 21, 1943, in Norfolk, Virginia.
A TIME TO LOVE
Butch met Sherry McPherson, whom he affectionately called Reese who was the love of his life. They were married in 1992 and were blessed to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary this past February.
Butch leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife Sherry McPherson-Robinson, sons Alvin Robinson and Shawn Robinson (Ebonie), stepdaughter Tameka McPherson, grandchildren Judah Robinson, Shawn Robinson Jr., and Bobby Robinson (deceased). Also left to cherish his memories are his sister Shaneille Sterling, two nieces, a nephew, and a host of family and friends.
A TIME TO WORK
Butch dedicated 40 years of service to Graves Funeral Home and following his retirement he assisted the Keith Matthews Funeral Home, both located in Norfolk, Virginia.
A TIME TO REFLECT
Butch gave his life to Christ at a young age and remained active in church fellowship until his health failed. Deacon Robinson was ordained in 2018 at Mount Zion Interdenominational Community Church located in Norfolk, Virginia and served in that capacity for a year. Lawrence was a devoted husband and family man. He was an avid sports fan and he without a doubt rooted for his Washington Commanders and Nationals. No matter the seasons results, that did not change his mind about his teams. Watching Butch enjoy the game with great excitement until the very end was invigorating. Butch will be so greatly remembered for speaking his mind and for having a sense of humor like none other. Lawrence “Butch” Robinson was loved, and he will be dearly missed by us all.
