Lillian Blades Obituary


     Lillian R Blades was born on September 11, 1924  in Panama. She was the third of six children.
She met and later married Charles H. Blades on May 15, 1943. They were blessed with 9 children, 7 girls and 2 boys. Lillian lived most of her life in the Canal Zone, Panama

     Lillian was a faithful servant of God. She attended United Gospel Church Bethel, where she led worship services, and served as Women’s Missionary Society President.
Lillian loved to crochet; play games with her children (her favorite was Scrabble); and listen to gospel music. Every Saturday when her sister, Inez, would come by, they sat, chatted and sang as they listened to gospel music.

     Mama loved the Lord with all her heart and long to see Him face to face.

     In 1979, Lillian and her husband relocated to the United States to be closer to her children. She lived in Queens with her daughter Mildred (deceased). There she worshiped at the Springfield Gardens Church of the Nazarene. She also lived a short while in California with her daughter Sally.  She was residing in Virginia with her youngest daughter, Angelica at the time of her passing.

     Lillian was a caring, compassionate and loving person. She shared what she had with neighbors, friends and strangers.

 

     Left to cherish her memories are her children Dorothy R. Ford ; Clarrisa Y. Davis, Charles H. Blades Jr. ; Myrna J. Jeanmard, Ida R. Broadhead Sally O. Bailey ; Angelica Tittle and David S. Blades Sr; Children in Law  Winston Ford, Irma Blades, Jemmie Broadhead, Ruperto Bailey, Nekelda Blades, Claudia Blades, Dorica Blades,  30 grandchildren, 42 great-grands, 6 great- great- grands sister –in-law Janice Russell & Lorretta Russell and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death is her husband Charles H. Blades Sr., her daughter Mildred Blades-Sheriff; siblings: Charles A. Russell, Matilda Allen, Rupert Russell, Gladston Russell & Reginald Russell. Grandson Rogelio C. Davis Jr.; great grandson Joseph Kupolati; Sons -in -law Rogelio C. Davis Sr., Ronald Jeanmard, and Daniel Tittle.
