Lillie Ann Pendleton, daughter of the late Sam Adams and Allie Langley, was born on October 28, 1927, in Pitt County, North Carolina. She peacefully went to glory Thursday, November 25, 2021, in the company of her God-Daughter, Tosha. Mother Ann was preceded in death by her late husband of 57 years, Ernest Pendleton.
She was a faithful member of Mason Memorial C.O.G.I.C. for more than 50 years, under the pastoral teaching of the late Bishop D. Lawrence Williams. Her greatest number of years with the ministry was under Bishop David B. Williams, with whom she credited much of her spiritual growth. Mother’s final years were under Superintendent Joseph T. Williams. Over the years she served her church with the Prayer Warriors, Sewing Circle and the Missionary Society. She loved being a Missionary and served in this capacity for decades. Mother did the majority of her street missions in the Janaf section of Norfolk, but because of her commitment to ministry, any place or time was an opportunity to share the goodness of the Lord.
Mother Ann leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Vickie Moore; four grandchildren, Tenesha, Tracie, Shaquana, and Maximillian Moore; thirteen great grands; eight great-great grands; a God-Son, Kevin Butts; three God-Daughters, Tosha (Jerry) Lassiter, Brenda (Rick) Harford, and Linda Thompson; and a host of extended family and friends.
