Linwood Edwin Morris, known to family and friends as “Pops”, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 3, 2023, in his home in Norfolk, Virginia. He was born on December 22, 1959, in Norfolk, Virginia to Gertrude Felton and Philip Morris Sr. He attended school at Booker T Washington High and Norview High School where he played football. He continued his education at Norfolk State University where he played football there as well and graduated with honors.
He worked for the Virginia Department Of Corrections at Indian Creek Correction Center until he retired. He shortly came out of retirement and went to work at Sentara Norfolk General as a security guard. He enjoyed weightlifting and watching football. His favorite team was the Raiders. He had a kind soul and a wonderful personality who would always look out for his family and friends. He had a beautiful bright smile that would brighten up a room and always had kind words of encouragement. He has three brothers and they all shared a very special bond. He loved spending his time with family and friends when he was not working.
Linwood was predeceased by his parents, Gertrude Felton (Morris) and Phillip Morris Sr, Vanessa Morris (niece), Jasmine Morris (great niece), and Janet Morris (sister-in-law).
Linwood leaves to cherish his memories in life, his brothers, Phillip Morris Jr, Redell Morris (Lillie), and Clifton Morris (Vanessa), nieces, Jeanita Gregory, Tamara Morris, Ashley Reyes, and Nicki Morris, Great nieces and nephews, Wayne Morris, Angel Reyes, and Angelica Reyes, and a host of family and friends.
