Lula Mae Bailey, age71, departed this life on November 7, 2021, in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She was born in Pungoteague, Virginia on June 10, 1950, to the late Obediah Sample Sr. and Willie Mae Sample.
Lula was a woman of great strength. She took on the tests and trials of life with boldness, strength and character in her own unique way. She helped those around her develop by operating in a God kind of love that’s unconditional love and forgiveness.
Education was her passion. She retired from the Accomack County Public School system after teaching for 49 years. She loved helping and teaching the next generation of students that she leaves behind to appreciate the lessons she taught.
Lula will truly be missed by all, but we thank God for her memories that we will always cherish and carry close to our hearts. Although her departure was unexpected, we commend her to our Heavenly Father, who never makes a mistake and ask him to hold our loved one in His Eternal keeping.
Lula was preceded in death by her parents, Obediah Sample, Sr. (1984) and Willie Mae Sample (2002); husband, Vernon L. Bailey (2016); brothers Ervin Sample (1993); William Sample (2002); James E. Sample, Sr. (2010); and sister, Emma Pitts (2021).
