Margaret Collins Obituary

Surely, Goodness & Mercy, shall follow me all the days of my life

The sun rose for MARGARET LUCILLE BRANCH COLLINS in Trehernsville,Va., on August 29, 1946.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. He leadeth me beside the still waters.

MARGARET exited her earthly home at Azalea Gardens. Rd., Norfolk, Va. After a lengthy illness and entered her heavenly home November 7, 2019.

She grew up in a loving household and was the oldest child of the late James Edward & Daisy Atline Branch.

Margaret received her formal education in the Northampton County School System on the Eastern Shore, Va. In doing so, it made her an avid reader of fiction & non-fiction.

She loved books & read all day, every day. She was a loyal sports fan. Tennis & Football were her favorites. her team, the 49ers, as was Bowling. She loved to solve puzzles and watch TV game shows. Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud, & America Says, were a few favorites of hers. Not to forget her Soaps, that she watched with her Brother-in Law. She enjoyed playing dominos & cards. Bid Whist was her game & she was serious about winning, & winning she did.

In 1963 Margaret journeyed to Hollis, New York & that was her home until her day of retirement.

She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, JFK Jamaica, N.Y. Being such an outstanding employee, she was awarded a Special Achievement Award & a Letter of Appreciation. After achieving an illustrious career plateau, she retired with 30 yrs. of dedicated service.  She then decided to spend her senior years in Norfolk, Va., & she made that her home.

Her departure was in the hands of the one who determined her entrance to this place we call LIFE!

Margaret leaves to cherish her memories: Four Sisters- Frances “NELL” Branch, (her care giver), Norfolk, Va., Annette, LaShawna, & Jamesa-Philadelphia, Pa., Four Brothers-John Upshur(Clara Ann) Painter Va., Tyrone, James, & Keith, Philadelphia, Pa.
