Remembering
Margaret Loretha Fosque
Margaret Loretha Fosque, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend was born on August 10, 1940, in Accomack County, Virginia to the late Robert Lee Strand and Estella Hester Rayfield Strand. She departed this life on June 21, 2024, at her home in Accomac, Virginia.
Margaret received her formal education in the Accomack County Public School system, and she completed her education by graduating from what was the former Mary N. Smith High School on June 3, 1960. Shortly thereafter, she joined in holy matrimony to her best friend and the love of her life William (Bookie) Fosque on September 9, 1961, and together they raised two sons, Robert and Darrell.
At a young age, Margaret joined Macedonia African Methodist Episcopal Church and faithfully served as a member of the Women’s Senior Ushers Board as she attended many annual usher day events at various churches on the Eastern Shore. She was also a member of the Women’s Missionary Society of the AME Church and attended various annual conferences over the years. Margaret also served on the Missionary and Steward Boards.
Through the years, Margaret was a productive member of society while working and maintaining a career at Tysons Foods, Temperanceville, VA until her retirement. However, her true calling came many years later as she trained and expanded her career, by becoming employed in the Nursing and Health Care Industry as a Home Health Care Aid. Among her favorite pastimes were shopping, interior design and adorning herself in the latest fashions accented with one of her many hats.
She leaves to cherish fond memories her husband, William (Bookie); sons, Robert (Brigitte) and Darrell (Stephanie); grandchildren, Dominique, Mario and Courtney; great grandchild, Treya; a cousin raised like a sister, Priscilla Harmon (Ronnie); six sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law, and a host of bonus grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
Sorrowfully submitted,
