Marguerite Weeks Obituary

Marguerite Lynn Weeks was born on April 15, 1954 in Onancock, Virginia.  She was the first born to the late Charlie and Gladys Bagwell.  She passed away peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2025 at Norview Heights in Norfolk, Virginia.

Marguerite, “Punkin” as she was affectionately known received her education in the Public schools of Accomack County.  After graduating from Onancock High School in 1973, she worked at Perdue Farms in Accomac and retired after 20 years of service.  Upon retiring from Perdue she became a domestic worker for several families until her health began to fail.

Marguerite was a very loving, kind, and soft spoken person.  In her free time, she enjoyed going shopping (her favorite store was Roses), playing cards, and going to the casino.  She also loved watching/listening to her soap operas and basketball games.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and family.  Before losing her sight she loved to cook, her specialty dish was potato salad.  Everyone loved her potato salad!  Marguerite was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish her loving memories are three children, Elbert Weeks, Jr., Alisha Weeks (Jermel), and Lakesha Allen (Eric); seven grandchildren, Tiffany Weeks, Emani Weeks, Alecia Parker, Kayla Allen, Mason Weeks, Jada McClean and Janelle McClean; nine siblings, Michael Bagwell, Gregory Bagwell (Gecolar), Margaret Bowser (David), Wayne Bagwell, Mary Bagwell, Charles Bagwell (Regina), Bryant Bagwell, Tracy Bagwell, and Tanisha Snead (Lamar); a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, cousins, friends, and a special friend, Mercedes Matthews.

We stood and saw you suffer, there was nothing we could do, but hold your hand and pray that GOD would take you through. When the Golden Gates swung open, God knew you needed rest, His garden must be beautiful, because He only takes the best.
