Marvin James

Marvin James, 79, of Norfolk, VA went home to be with the Lord and reunite with all of his loved ones who passed on before him.

Marvin was a caring gentle soul, who could also be very stubborn at times and he didn't play about his Redskins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Allen Smith, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Chenier Kenneth Cook; his daughters, Tomika Platt, Kandance Johnson, Adrienne White, and Kyra Davis; his brothers, Allen Smith and Billy Green; sister, Shirley Barbour; as well as six other siblings; a nephew, Lance Johnson, who kept his snacks full (he loved his snacks and was always eating); his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as a host of family and friends.

Marvin had a contagious smile that will truly be missed. This isn't a goodbye, but a see you when we get there. Until then you will be forever in our hearts and always missed.
