A Time to be Born... Michele Bush Owens was born in Harlem, New York on January 15th, 1962, to the late Joseph Grant and Marjorie Bush. She was the youngest of her siblings, two brothers William Bush, and the late Henry Bush Jr., three sisters Edith Reaves, Merle Bush Rhodes, and Suchit ‘Al’ Bush.
A Time to Live... Michele grew up in Harlem, New York and graduated from Dodge Vocational High School, Class of 1980. Michele later moved to the Bronx and had two children Mark Shaun Bailey and Elyse Shavonn Shell. She was very active in her community where she worked for the NYC department of sanitation for many years, transferring to the NYC 50 precinct police department as PAA (police administrative Aide). After servicing the NYC department, she later retired, got married and moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia. She then became a foster mother to many children and later became a caretaker for Blue Ridge, taking care of disabled clients. She had a few clients she cared for, but her heart was Ryan Helwig (son), whom she has been taking care of for 15+ years. She also was an active church member (Pastor's Aide) to the pastor and First Lady of the Burning Bush Worship Center.
A Time to Rest...Michele, 62, went home to be with the Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Princess Anne Hospital with family by her side. She is predeceased by her parents The late Joseph Grant and the late Marjorie Bush and brother Henry Bush Jr.
A Time to Mourn... Michele was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Michele leaves to cherish fondest memories to her children Mark Shaun Bailey Jr. and Elyse Jones; six grandchildren Trayvon, Ivana, Jaliah, Andre, Christian, and Jada. A host of God children Fredrick Thomas (deceased), Russel Thomas, Theresa Thomas, CeliciaThomas , IsahiaThomas , ElijahThomas , Artika, Elijah Mouring, Adrina Mouring, Myangle Mouring, Kevon Mouring, Samya Mouring, Donavan Mouring, Katrina Burden, Ravonte’ Burden, De’Mario Burden, Mae’Yana Burden, Na’Riah Burden, Rhai’Lynn Burden, Meccia Boon, Derick Miller, Daniqua Miller, Janina Gonzales , Hector Hernandez, Shatel Brooke, Jazzy, Soya, Jazmin Gunter, Corey, Sarina Morris, Samuel, Solomon, Ester, Therea Cuffee, Domiaque Cherry, and Jamel Cherry. For those who aren't mentioned, it doesn't mean it was forgotten, it just means there are so many, because Michele loved everyone, and everyone loved Michele.
