On Wednesday, June 2, 2021, the light dimmed on this earth and heaven’s light shined bright as our Heavenly Father welcomed into his loving arms our mother, Mildred L. Brown. She was born on August 12, 1935, to her loving parents, the late Fred Ezekiel and Alice Dreuitt. At an early age she joined the St. Mark AME Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Mildred attended church under the guidance of her mother and they both would join the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith during her late teens. Because she was introduced to the love of God at an early age, until her last days, she believed in the power and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. With that said, she lived a quiet life without bragging or boasting or complaints.
Mildred was educated in the Princess Anne County School System and a graduate of St. Joseph's High School in Norfolk. After which, she maintained a strong work ethic in nursing as a CNA while working full time in the Virginia Beach School System – retiring with full benefits. She enjoyed ‘hitting-the-road’ for church conventions and conferences up and down the Eastern Seaboard, DC, Maryland, Philadelphia, Memphis, North Carolina, and Chicago.
Mildred leaves to cherish her memory, her son Timothy Bernard Brown; daughter-in-law, Angela Lawan Brown; sisters, Sarah Cole and Clara Sills; grandsons, Seth Jordan Brown and Aiden Ellis Brown; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, saints, and friends.
Lovingly Submitted,
