Miriam Owens Obituary

Miriam Owens was given her final and best assignment on January 5, 2025. She was called to be with our Lord.  She was born in Elizabeth City June 26, 1937. Her parents were Vernon Little and Fannie Bond Little. Miriam graduated from Elizabeth City University with a B.S. in education. She taught Special Education in Virginia and North Carolina.  She loved her students and was very compassionate about her job. She was saved and served God for the majority of her life.  She was one of the most kindest and loving person you could ever meet.  She was always willing to give a helping hand and would give you her last, She loved people and saw the best in everyone.

Miriam left her career as a teacher to be a full time housewife and mother and devoted her time to her growing family. She leaves behind a loving husband, Charles W. Owens; three daughters, Rhonda Owens-Hopson (Robert), Tonya Owens, and Emiley Owens; seven grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Savage and Vernice Billips (Gene); two brothers, Herman Little (Marlene) and Melvin Little; and a host of niece and nephews. Miriam was preceded in death by her brothers, John Little and Henry Little; and her sister, Janie Little.

Miriam will forever remain in our hearts.
