Nathaniel Woodard
Nathaniel Woodard entered eternal rest on Friday, November 6, 2020.
He was affectionately called “ Na” by his immediate family and by his friends , “ Red” and “ Nate”. He attended Norfolk Public Schools, but prior to graduating
From Booker T. Washington High School, Nathaniel joined the United States Army where he faithfully served his country and received an honorable discharge.His duties were automotive repair parts, stock control and accounting specialists. After returning from the military he worked as a masonry helper, fire watcher at The Norfolk Shipyard, a city of Norfolk employee, and other jobs.
He accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of the now Campostella Heights Seventh Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed going to his daughter’s house and being with his grand kids. He loved being with all his children. When you tell him you love him, he would say, I love all ya’ll. He always had an answer for you whether you liked the answer or not.
In the run of a day, he would always manage to tell you thanks for what you’ve done for him. Tim and Na established a bond of brotherhood in a Christian atmosphere of prayer, reading of scriptures and listening to gospel music daily.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Sr. and Margie Woodard , his brother Frank , Jr., his brother Calvin Crews, and his sister, Laura Mason.
He leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Lucy Armstrong, ( Tyrone) . Also, he leaves to cherish his memory , his children , Naesha Ringer( Sirron) , Nathaniel Woodard, Jr., Shenekga, Woodard, Antreon Woodard, Zeontray Woodard, Tremain Beckett, Kendra Johnson, ( Roscoe) , and Chiquita Coley. He leaves a host of grands and great –grands ,nieces and nephews, friends and relatives. He leaves to cherish his memory his special friend, Cynthia Brown who he affectionately called “Cindy”.
