Patlesy Lassiter passed away peacefully in Chesapeake, Virginia on Friday, April 30, 2021 after a short illness.
She was born in Norfolk County, Virginia to the late Gracie and Famous Rogers. She was the fifth child of six children. She attended Chesapeake Schools. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Lynn Shores Manor Nursing Home for 20 years and was a part-time paper deliverer for the Virginia Pilot for over 15 years. In her later years, she worked with her daughter at their in-home daycare, Art of Friends Daycare for 17 years.
Patlesy, or Pat, loved her family. One of her favorite things to do was celebrate their birthdays and special events at Golden Coral and Private Cove Restaurant. Her doors were always open to her children and grandchildren, as she cherished spending time with them.
In her retirement, you could find her working in her garden or visiting a casino. She loved to play the slots at Rosie Casino in New Kent County. She loved to shop and when she finally mastered the computer, she kept the deliverymen busy. Pat was a fun-loving individual who did not believe in confusion. She was an encouraging person and approached all situations with a positive attitude.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Teresa Brown Davis and Bessie Virginia Gregory, and her brother Colby Rogers.
Her memories will forever by cherished by her daughters, Santonia Lewis (Presley) of Chesapeake; Danielle Lassiter (Herbert Thomas) of North Carolina; and Latonisha Smith (Antonio) of Portsmouth; her son Ronald Lassiter Jr. of Norfolk: and four-legged fur baby, Gizmo of Chesapeake; her brother Famous Rogers (Molly) of Chesapeake; her and sister Mary Cuffee (Aaron Dean) of Chesapeake. She also leaves 10 grandchildren, a special niece, Hope Bryant of Chesapeake; goddaughter Joy Rogers of Virginia Beach; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
