Obituary

Mrs. Patricia A. Gainey, entered eternal rest Saturday December 4, 2021.  Called home to be with her Lord and Savior.  She was the second child of six born on June 3, 1962 in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  She is predeceased by her Father Charles McAllister and Mother Arlene Griffin. Tricia attended Norfolk, Va public schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School with the Class of 1979.  On July 25th 1991, Patricia was united in Holy Matrimony for over thirty years until her transition to Kenneth L. Gainey of Portsmouth, Va. Family is the most wonderful gift that any of us could wish for. They did their best for nine phenomenal children.

Our beloved served over thirty years at various commands for the United States Department of the Navy.  Pat also served as a Past Worthy Matron of Adah Chapter #20 Order of the Eastern Star in 2011- 2012.  Not only did she serve in the public sector but she had a tenacity for entrepreneurship.  Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to be the soul proprietor of Clean It Up Now, Owner of several rental properties, and an Investor.  Although she enjoyed working in the public and private sectors, serving God was her biggest joy!  God calls us to many forms of ministry which she did by using her voice.  She ministered in several choirs and performed solos bringing the Word of God with the realities of daily life within the songs she performed.  Patricia gave of herself generously and made a strong impact upon people.

Celebrating her life and rejoicing in her Homegoing, she leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband, Kenneth L. Gainey of Portsmouth, Va.  three sons, Johnny Jordan (Brooke) of Lawrenceville Ga, Keith Santos (Vanessa) of Las Vegas, NV, Uri Stovall of Norfolk, Va.  six daughters, Flonnie Anderson of Newark, NJ, Latishia Scroggins (Joe) and Alicia Morrison both of Chesapeake, Va, Stacey Jordan, Kennae Gainey, and Sariah Gainey all of Portsmouth, Va, twelve grandchildren, three brothers Charles McAllister Jr. (Cheryl), John McAllister (Althea), Chris McAllister (LaShawn), two sisters, Sarah Taylor (Dennis), and Sonia Burkett, Stepfather Joe W. Griffin, four uncles, three aunts, and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.

“And all wept, and bewailed her:  but Jesus said Wept not; she is not dead, but sleeping.”  (Luke 8:52)
