Phillip Ware

Phillip Russell Ware, 71, of Staunton, VA passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at his sisters home in Grottoes, VA. He was born on January 18, 1953 and was a son of the late Phillip and Glenzia (Anderson) Ware.

Phillip had worked in the hotel business. He served his country in the US Navy. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Washington Redskins and LA Lakers, and loved music. He was also a standout basketball star at Booker T. Washington High School in Staunton, Va. 

Phillip was united in marriage to Sylvia Locklear Ware.

Also surviving are his children, Alfredo Garrett & wife Tina, Tony Locklear & wife Christina, Gwendolyn Andrews, Phillip Ware, III, and Shanette Ware; his sister, Evelyn Kier; a brothers, Wayne Anderson; aunt, Sonja Waters & husband Terry; 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tyrone Ware and sister, Gwendolyn Anderson.
