Phillip M. Benns was born July 16, 1962, he answered God's call to rest from his earthly body on February 11, 2025. He was predeceased by his loving parents, James and Mary Benns; and two brothers, James "Jimmie" and Elton "Sunnyboy".
Phil, as he was called by his family and friends, was just a kind and loving person walking on earth to share love and some laughter.
Phil was educated in the Norfolk Public Schools system. He was known for his incredible work ethic and was dedicated to his jobs, whether it was detailing cars or janitorial work, he enjoyed it all. When he wasn't working you would find hi indulging in his hobbies of singing, dancing, and listening to old school music with his friends.
He was a person that spoke kindly of people even he he was mistreated, he would say, "be nice, don't say that". He leaves to cherish his memories, one brother, Lester Tyrone (Sheila); five sisters, Cynthia (William), Renita (Mack), Sandra, Carolyn, and Katrina; as well as a host of aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Phillip will truly be missed and we loved him dearly.
