Queenie Simmons

On Sunday January 3rd, 2021 God called Queenie “Vanessa “ Simmons home to eternal rest.

She was born on February 7th, 1954 in North Carolina to her mother Edna Gray Pickett. Vanessa was a very special person who spent her time wisely with everyone she loved.

Along with her family, those left to cherish her memories are her children, son Alden Wright and daughter Tonialisa Simmons, her seven grandchildren including, Ronald, Keyshawn, Charmaigne, and Kemanuel,  three great-grand children, her siblings, one pre-deceased Charles Wright, Carl Wright, Benny Wright, her favorite cousin, Carolyn McBride, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Vanessa will always be remembered by her contagious smile and humanity, her fun-loving and jovial nature would lift spirits of many who she came in contact with. She had a great love for music and art and will be missed dearly.
