Raymond Tann, Sr.

Raymond Tann, Sr. 78, son of the late Jesse and Lucy Tann was born on March 1st, 1943 in Severn, North Carolina. On December 9th, 2021, God whispered to Raymond and said “It’s time to come home and rest.”

On October 28th, 1972, Raymond was united in Holy Matrimony with his predeceased, longtime, soulmate, Janice Tann. They had been married for 48 years. From this union, two children were born.

Raymond was employed as a welder with Tidewater Equipment for 10+ years. Then, Raymond worked as a rigger for Colonna’s Shipyard for 5+ years before retiring in 2005.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethelene Tann Williams and Mary Ann Tann Brooks; and two brothers, Jesse Tann, Jr., and Arthur Lloyd Tann.

Raymond leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Tarnetta Natasha Tann; son, Raymond Tann, Jr.; two sisters, Mary Ann Tann and Georgia Tann Valentine (Clifton); three brothers, Joe Tann, Willie Lee Tann (Martha), and Reuben Tann; and 14 grandchildren and a host of grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
