Reginald Lazarius Bond, affectionately known as “Reggie,” was born on August 11, 1954, in Norfolk, Virginia. The only child of Delores Bond Russell, Reggie was a man of deep resilience. Although he faced many challenges throughout his life, his faith in God remained a constant cornerstone and was clearly reflected in his love for the church.
Reggie was a man of many passions. He was a formidable checker player, a lifelong lover of music—especially the “Oldies but Goodies”—and a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also found his greatest peace in the outdoors, spent in the quiet patience of crabbing and fishing.
He leaves behind a legacy of family, including his daughter, Promyse Mia Bond; six grandchildren: Jermaine Carrington, Jr., Chauncetta Trumble, Chauncia Trumble, Chauncy Trumble, Jr., Chauncuan Trumble, and Chauncell Trumble; eight great‑grandchildren; and a host of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
