Richard "Sye" Brazil

November 9, 2023

Richard Brazil Obituary

Richard Allen ‘Sye’ Brazil was born on April 22, 1952.  He was the third child of four siblings born to Marjorie and Willie Brazil.  He was a graduate of Edison Technical High School in Rochester, New York.

Sye, as he was lovingly called, had a knack for lighting up any room he entered with his friendly demeanor and ability to naturally make you laugh.  He had the power to transfer that energy to anyone he encountered.  Although there are countless memories, family and friends will most likely remember him best for always bestowing a nickname upon everyone he met.  This along with his hugs and sense of humor, made you believe you had your own special relationship with him that was as devout as his love for the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Sye had an impeccable talent for art and displayed those talents in art school.  He also loved to sing and dance, which inspired those around him to join in.

Sye made his transition on November 9, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his parents Marjorie and Willie Brazil.  He is survived by his loving wife Carrie of Monessen, PA, and siblings Willie Brazil Sr. (Sandra), Alyce Mack (Julius), and Marjorie Bronson, of Rochester, NY.  Sye will also forever be remembered by his stepchildren, Valerie Wilson (Anthony) and William Allen (Rhonda); two loving granddaughters Victoria Council and Alexa Allen-Cotton, two great granddaughters, Alexandria and Avianna, and a great grandson on the way already nicknamed “Little Richard”.  He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
