On August 6, 2022, Roland Hayes Barnes was peacefully called to eternal rest. He was born April 6, 1957, to the late Gladys Barnes and Nathaniel Baker.
In his leisure time he enjoyed cooking and being with family and friends. At any time, you could always find him riding shot gun with his sister and best friend Josephine “Lois” Barnes. He will truly be missed by those he touched.
He is preceded in death by his sister: Ethel Mae Barnes.
He is survived by sister: Josephine Barnes, Norfolk; daughter, Mieisha Wright, Washington DC.;
four grandchildren: Taelon Wright, A’naya Smith, Kamauri Hutchins, Vaeyah Hutchins, Washington DC.
He leaves fond memories to cherish with his special nieces Stephanie Blue, Norfolk, CaTina Zavala (Zane), Norfolk, and Kierra Thomas (Christopher), Norfolk, and nephew Lamont Barnes, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
