Ronald Gordon

Ronald Eugene Gordon, Sr. passed away on June 19, 2025, at the age of 69. He was born in Portsmouth, VA to John
Mills Gordon and Georgetta Beatrice Johnson. Ronald was predeceased by his parent; granddaughter Taporia Cox; and
siblings Bernard Gordon, John Gordon, and Laura Gordon.
At the heart of Ronald's life was his beloved family. He leaves to cherish memories his children, Yolanda Gordon
and Ronald Gordon, Jr; grand-children, Gregory, Kenmonta, and Breon; and 6 great-grandchildren, Marquie, Jalani, Josiah, Ariyah, Kenmonta, and Kai. He is also survived by siblings, Albert Gordon (Ruth), Shelton Gordon (Teressa), Helen Watkins, and Alethia Gordon, and a host of nieces and nephews who will forever hold his memory in their hearts. He also shared a motherly bond with Ms. Geraldine Blue for many years.
As an adult, Ronald worked as a chef for 30 plus years in Virginia and Pennsylvania, where he established numerous long-lasting friendships and gained extended family. He was known for his plentiful jokes and sayings, unwavering kindness, and the indelible mark left on the lives of all who ate meals prepared by his hands.
“Lil Ears” was blessed with a wide circle of friends, each of whom have shared in the joy and laughter that he exuded. His ability to listen, offer advice, exchange competitive quips about football, or share in both laughter and tears made him a confidant and a cherished companion. All whose lives were touched by Ronald “Lil Ears” Gordon, Sr. are invited to attend and share in the remembrance of a remarkable man on June 27, 2025 at 11:00 am presented by Keith
Matthews Funeral Home located at 5665 East Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, VA. Family and close friends, are welcomed to a private viewing on June 26, 2025 from 3:00-6:00. Repass will be held at Club DePorres located 901 High Street in Portsmouth, VA.
