Rosalynd Harris

Rosalynd LaVerne Lee Harris went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2019. "LaVerne" was a dedicated and involved member of Lee's Chapel AME Church of Chesapeake, Va. all of her life. She was a 1966 graduate of Crestwood High school and furthered her education at VCU. After college, she started working at Norfolk Juvenile Court as a Probation Officer. She worked there for 30 years until her health failed her and caused her to retire as a Probation Supervisor.

Rosalynd is survived by her husband, Carlton Harris, Jr., one daughter, Crystal Harris Goodman (W. Dion), 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. 2 God sons, 1 brother, Alton Batts, Jr., 2 sisters, Mildred Taylor (Rob), Pamela Harris (Golden), devoted uncle, Wayne Jernigan, devoted  aunt, Odessa Ricks, 4 sister-in-laws,  and 2 brother-in-laws, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday at Lee’s Chapel A.M.E. Church, 1036 Bells Mill Rd., Chesapeake.  Viewing will be on Friday from 3:00 until 7:00 at the Keith Matthews Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed at www.keithmatthewsfuneralhome.com.
