Ruth Walker

Ruth R. Walker, 92, passed away on May 31, 2018.  She was born April 21, 1926 in Halifax, North Carolina to the late Willie Rosser and Lydia Lynch (Rosser).  She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

She was married to the late Alonzo Walker.  She and her husband owned several restaurants in Norfolk.  She retired from the Navy Exchange Command after 40 years of service but continued to work until her health started declining.

She came from a large loving family of 14 siblings which she preceded in death and a living sister whom she loved dearly Caldonia Silver.

She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter Willie Mae Ryan, a son-in-law Abraham Ryan, a granddaughter Toni Palmer, a grandson Ronald Palmer, two great-granddaughters Tia Usher and Dejah Chapple, a great grandson Craig Kimble, a daughter she raised Josephine Roundtree and her two sons Calvin and Stephen Roundtree, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
