On Monday, November 29, 2021, our beloved Sophia M. Wilkins entered her eternal rest. Sophia passed away at the age of 51 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will strive to honor her memory. She was educated in the Norfolk Public School System, attending Larchmont Elementary, Rosemont Middle School and Matthew Fontaine Maury High School in Norfolk Virginia. Sophia touched many lives while here on earth especially during her job as a nurse technician at Morristown Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey. She loved helping others and this was one way to show it towards others every day. She once said, “I treat all patients the way that I would like to be treated because I never know when I may need help”. Sophia absolutely loved interior designing. This would eventually lead her to a new hobby, creating designer wreaths and floral arrangements. Sophia had several other pastimes, including watching her favorite sports team, the Dallas Cowboys, listening to “I Told the Storm”, a song by Gregory O’Quinn, and wearing her favorite color… purple. Sophia is survived by her loving Father: John Woodruff; her Mother: Helen Brown; her Siblings: Nicole Henderson (Pleasant), Renard Brown, Kenny Brown and Johnette Brown, together with a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She will be greatly missed, and her memory will forever live in our hearts.
