On December 18, 2019, God called home our beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Friend, Sterling Streeter, after battling a long illness. Sterling was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Carrie Streeter and Elijah Streeter. He was raised in Warrenton, NC by his grandparents, Junious Alston and Viola Alston. Then he moved to Hampton, VA with his aunt Margaret Lewis and uncle Robert Lewis until his teenage years. Afterwards he ultimately settled in Jamaica, Queens where he raise his family.
Sterling was a kind, funny, loving, and honest person. He had a great sense of humor and loved to share stories about his past. Sterling was hardworking and truly loved his family. During his later years, he moved to Virginia to live with his daughter and grandchildren to live out his final years.
Sterling is survived by his loving children, Kevin Jones, Zina Denise Streeter, Tonya Burt, Michael Streeter, and Katrice Moore. His sisters, Deloris Streeter, Burujah Abdul Ahad, and Eleanor Holland. His wife Louise Streeter preceded him in death. Sterling has 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren who he loved and cherished with all of his heart. A host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, devoted family, and friends to continue his legacy.
