Celebrating the Life of Terence Lee Brodie
March 25, 1967 – September 19, 2025
“I have fought a good fight…”
Terence Lee Brodie, 58, entered into eternal rest on September 19, 2025. He was born on March 25, 1967, in Norfolk, Virginia, to the late Samuel Alvester Brodie Sr. and Ethel Lee Beatrice Mills Harris Brodie. He was the youngest of his siblings.
Terence received his education in the Norfolk public school system. He worked faithfully as a laborer, but his greatest passion was barbering. A gifted barber, he brought joy and confidence to many through his craft. Beyond his skill, Terence was known for his sense of humor—he loved joking and making people laugh, bringing light to everyone around him.
He resided in Chesapeake, Virginia, and in the early 1990s was ordained to the office of deacon by the late Bishop Loretta Jones of Saint Andrew Church of God in Christ. Having answered the call of the Lord, Terence was filled with the Holy Spirit and dedicated himself to serving God with gladness. He sang with joy on the worship and praise team, and one of his favorite songs was “Things Will Work Out for My Good.” Later in life, he became a member of Garden of Prayer Church, 1001 Church Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23510, under the leadership of Pastor Bishop Jonathan Willis.
Terence leaves behind a legacy of faith, laughter, and love. He is survived by his beloved wife, Veronica Cherry Brodie of Burley, VA, and their five beautiful children. He is also survived by his children: Nikkita Brodie of Virginia Beach, VA; Dinesha Brodie of Norfolk, VA; Terence Brodie Jr. of Norfolk, VA; and Chris Brodie of Norfolk, VA. He was preceded in death by his son, Shawn W. Harris of Norfolk, VA. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren.
He is further survived by six siblings: Samuel A. Brodie Sr. of Norfolk, VA; Gregory Brodie of Griffin, GA; Jeanette Gray of Norfolk, VA; Florence A. Anderson of Suitland, MD; Jessica Jones of Richmond, VA; and Jacqueline Brodie of Norfolk, VA, along with nieces, nephews, a host of relatives, and friends.

Family, friends, and loved ones from all over can recall and quote the memorable sayings of our beloved “Little Brother.” One charge he has left with us remains a source of strength:
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” — Philippians 4:13
“For I believe God.”
