Terron Matthews Obituary

Terron Marlynne Matthews (Tee) departed this life on September 5th, 2020. Terron and his twin sister, Toya, were born to Leola Matthews and Larry Matthews on December 19, 1969 in Dothan, Alabama. The family moved to Miami when Terron was six and then relocated to Virginia. Terron met his former wife, Phillita Matthews, at Captain D’s where they worked together as teenagers and were blessed with two children: Terron Matthews on November 25th, 1993 and Tanisha Matthews on September 2nd, 1998. He was baptized on November 16th, 2014 and was a member of Elevation Church in Concord, North Carolina. Tee was a long time employee of Spitfire Aviation. Terron was an avid fisherman who felt the peace out on the pier. He also loved spending time with his family. Tee’s big hearted laugh could be heard every day just sitting around with family cracking jokes and playing games. Terron was a dog lover. He spent hours and so much time with his dogs. His dog Mikko will be missing him dearly. Terron was also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan who had more decor, rings and Cowboy’s attire than one could imagine. One of the most special events was Christmas 2019 where Terron was able to spend Christmas and celebrate his 50th birthday alongside his twin, Toya, and met his grandson, Adonis, for the first time. He is survived by his daughter Tanisha Matthews, his son and daughter-in-law Terron and Lyana Matthews, grandson Adonis Matthews, mother Leola Matthews, father and step-mother Larry and Mittie Matthews, siblings Toya (Anthony) Ricks, Sean (Pamela) Washington, Cornelius Washington, and Tameka Brown, sister-in-law Michelle Matthews, nephews, Cebran Matthews Jr., Branden Matthews and Anthony Ricks, Jr., niece Alexis Ricks, long-time partner Connie Hodges and her sons Chris Meadows and Tyler Hodges and grandson Tyler Hodges Jr. Terron is preceded in death by his sister Shardai Russell and brothers Cebran Matthews Sr. and Eric Washington.
