Theresa Joyce Walker was born in Norfolk, VA on February 18, 1960, to the late Lucille George and Sampson Walker, an Army serviceman. She was the youngest of five, born to the happy couple, in a line that consisted of 3 girls and 2 boys. On Friday, April 22, 2022, Theresa Joyce passed away quietly, in the city of her birth.
Joyce was admired by both family and friends for her sincere humbleness, as well as for her quiet and sweet demeanor. She was committed to a modest lifestyle as a Christian woman, who was a lifelong member of Bethel Apostolic Church of Chesapeake, VA, which her father was a founding member of. Joyce was educated through Norfolk public schools, and attended Maury High School. She worked for many years as a housekeeper, and was a great, supportive mother to her two daughters, Tiffany and Loreal. She loved cooking, and watching game shows like Wheel of Fortune. Joyce was also a frequent volunteer for organizations like Meals on Wheels America, and regularly donated to Goodwill. She was a generous, giving person, who would happily lend a hand when needed.
Joyce was preceded in death by her brothers, Sampson Walker, Jr., and Malachi Walker. And she leaves behind her beloved daughters: Tiffany and Loreal Walker, her two sisters, Katherine Fletcher and Constance Myles, a grandson, Ahmad Loyd, and many nieces and nephews: including grandnieces and grandnephews, as well as a bunch of cousins and close friends. She will be missed by many.
