Toya Savage Obituary

Toya Jean Savage was born on June 10, 1952 in Norfolk, Virginia to Dorothy Mae Feggins.  On Monday, January 18, 2021, Toya received her heavenly wings.

Toya was educated in the Norfolk Public School System, last attending Booker T. Washington High School in the graduating class of 1969.  In 1973, she began working at the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company (C&P Telephone).  In 1974, she made the valiant decision to join the United States Army as a reservist, while still employed with C&P.  She was fortunate to be able to transfer her full-time position with C&P to Indianapolis, Indiana, where she was serving in the military part-time.  After several years, she was transferred back to Virginia and continued to work for C&P for 30 years (now currently Verizon) until she retired in 2010.

Toya was kind and free-spirited and always willing to help others.  She loved her privacy and always talked with everyone in a straight-forward manner.  Everyone who knew Toya was touched by her love and thoughtfulness.  Toya will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Toya was predeceased by her mother, Dorothy Mae Feggins.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her only son, Carl E. Harrison of Virginia Beach, Virginia; four grandchildren; Breah, Lynell Harrison, Juwan Lamont Harrison, Anthony Eugene Harrison and Angel April Harrison; two great-grandchildren, Vaughn Leo Harrison, Dominic Jairo Brooms, II; two sisters, Joyce Hardy and Laura McCoy, both of Virginia Beach, Virginia; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
