Verashell Foreman

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Verashell Ann McCray Lee Foreman, 52, who left us on September 17, 2025; at Sentara Leigh Hospital. She was born on June 10, 1973, in Norfolk, Virginia but she wasn’t born alone. She had the joy of sharing life with her twin sister Meshell who passed away in September 2012.

Verashell was born to Debra Sutton and the late Clinton Perguese. She is survived by her sister Alise Freeman and brother Arthur Freeman along with her four children: Calvin Murray, Jr, Dondre Murray, Anthony Lee, Jr., and Aniya McCray and bonus niece/daughter- Shavonda and daughter-in-law- Danielle.

She leaves to cherish her memories as well, her grandchildren: Amiyah, Malonia, Ava, Arianna, Dondre Jr, Amaree, and one on the way- Amorah, a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews, cousins, God-children, friends and family.

A service celebrating Verashell Lee Foreman’s precious life will be held on October 4, 2025, at Oakwood Chapel Church, where friends and family are invited to remember a life that was truly a gift to us all.
