A veteran of the armed forces and a long-time resident of Paterson, NJ and later Sicklerville, NJ, Vernon was known for his entrepreneurial spirit, having found success as a self-employed courier after years as a skilled electrician.
Vernon's life was marked by his robust faith and a penchant for lively debates. He leaves behind a profound legacy of resilience and determination. Surviving him are his children Rodney Glenn Smith-Waters, Dale Elvis Mason, and Vernette Jones, along with numerous grandchildren, and a wide circle of family and friends.
