Vernon "Red" Williams Obituary

Mr. Vernon Hollies Williams was born on   September 4, 1944 in Portsmouth, VA to the late Hollie and Renita  Williams.

Vernon, also known as “Red” Aint I Clean  Williams, was employed with the city of Portsmouth. He was a legendary radio announcer was heard frequently on the Daddy Jack Holmes radio show. Red ‘Aint I Clean’ sang gospel with various groups throughout the Tidewater area and was a member of the Male Chorus at New Union Chapel A.M.E. under Pastor Ronald Knight. He also was a co-host on the Weekend Praise Show at WPCE radio station. His past enjoyment was playing Bingo with a community of friends.

He is survived by his faithful Wife, Arlene Williams of Norfolk, VA; one daughter, Jennifer Williams; a granddaughter, Kroupe     Williams; two brothers, George Avant and Henry Avant; a mother-in-law, Ernestine Reid; four brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, a special recognition to his dearest Florene Hill, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
