On December 6, 2023, the heavens gained a new star as William Bruce Bagley, lovingly referred to as “Sticks”, peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord at the age of 71.
Born on June 10, 1952, in Norfolk, Virginia, Sticks was the cherished son of Willie and Delores Bagley. He found immense satisfaction in a variety of occupations over the years, but it was his work as a landscaper, alongside his father and brothers, that brought him the greatest sense of accomplishment.
Sticks was a man of few words, yet his loving and humble nature spoke volumes. Despite his analytical mind, some may have mistaken him for being shy, but in reality, he possessed a keen ability to observe and appreciate every detail in any given room. Sticks was a great listener who offered wise and sound advice, embodying qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. He lived his life with a sense of gratitude, humility, and respect, leaving a lasting mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to cross his path.
In the embrace of eternity, Sticks now reunites with his beloved parents, Willie and Delores Bagley, and three brothers, Michael “Cartoon” Bagley, Darryl “Pluckie/Bo” Bagley, and Robin “Rabbit” Bagley, and great nephew Keontae Henderson, who preceded him in death.
His legacy is a testament to the importance of cherishing every moment and celebrating the beauty of life. Sticks is survived by his loving son, Bruce Williams, and his adored granddaughter, Beautie Rose Williams. He is also survived by his brother, Ronnie Bagley, and an extended family that includes Uncle William (Margaret) May, along with 4 nieces and 4 nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
As we reflect on Sticks' life, let us be inspired by his enduring legacy of love, humility, and kindness. May his memory live on in our hearts as we continue to celebrate the remarkable journey of a man who touched the lives of many with his gentle spirit and unwavering love.
