William A. Cook Jr. affectionally known as "Wil-Love" was born in Norfolk, VA. on July 26, 1964 to the late Emma Riddick and William A. Cook Sr.
On January 13, 2023 , Wil hit the ultimate jackpot & can truly yell, Biiiinnnnnnngggggoooo!
As a child, William was energetic and enjoyed playing basketball. William was educated through the Chesapeake Public Schools system where he was a part of the Oscar Smith High School basketball team. Also, while in high school he started positioning himself to become a part of the United States Air Force so he joined the ROTC. William was always goal oriented and persistent in whatever he did. His determination paid off and he was able to obtain his diploma and graduated from Oscar Smith High School in 1984.
Post High School, William a trade in roofing. He was employed by Roof Services and Beck Roofing for a total of 28 years until becoming ill. Wit's hobbies consisted of fishing, playing Bingo, and parading up and down the street in his well cleaned car and truck. He loved his "Old School" music, playing loudly and enjoyed riding high in "White Lightening". Wil always presented himself in a well-groomed fashioned. Dressing up and smelling good, getting pedicures and manicures was something he took great pride in.
Did someone mention sports? Wil was a die-hard New York Giants fan. In fact, it is safe to say, he was Mr. New York Giants. One would have thought he had stock in the New York Giants Franchise! His affection was so grand in regard to the New York Giants, he possessed almost everything New York Giants!
William in his later years gave his life to Christ. He was very sincere in his faith and was excited about second chances. He attended Second Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk VA up until his illness in 2005.
William leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Rosalind D. Cook of 22 years. 2 sons, William Andre Griffin and William Devon Sykes, 2 step daughters, Tiara White and Porschea Wilson. 2 brothers, Robert Riddick and Tony Riddick. 1 sister, Connie Cook. 2 aunts, Jeanette Riddick and Mary Riddick. A total of 6 grandchildren, Cameren White, Jahkiya Wilson, Trenton Green and 3 in Northern VA. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
