Beulah Banks Ruffin

Beulah Yvonne Banks Ruffin, 58, devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, and affectionate sister passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. She was a native of Chesapeake and a member of Kingdom Love Full Gospel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey Jackson, Sr. and Gracie Jackson, and son Takeem Diamonte Banks.
She received her education through Norfolk Public Schools. She later pursued a career in Early Childhood Education through the STOP Program where she obtained her certification. After becoming certified Beulah provided daycare services in her home for over 6 years. She later became employed at Happy Land Daycare where she worked for 13 years.
Beulah loved children and loved taking care of them. That was her passion. She was a good mother who instilled Christian values in her own children. She wanted her children to serve the God that she served. It was all about family for Beulah, loving supporting and taking care of each other. She was a kind and gentle and loved God with all her heart.
Beulah also served as Deaconess for Kingdom Love Full Gospel Baptist Church. She serve faithfully in her position. She pressed her way even though she did not feel like it sometimes because she knew her God was the source of her strength. Her goal was to make it into the kingdom. She will truly be missed.
She is survived by her husband Samuel D. Ruffin; three daughters Tiffany Nicole Banks, Shevonda Kamia Banks, and Chantique Jinae Wooten (husband Donte). Three sisters Darlene Horton (husband Hayward), Wanda Harris, and Debra Davis (husband Donell); three brothers, Harvey Jackson, Jr., Daniel Jackson (wife Lenora), and Lester Jackson. Adopted daughter, Ebony Monique Cooper. Special niece Lestaria Jackson. Two grandchildren, Zy’Kari Cooper, Zyzeana Tucker, and a host of loving family and friends.
